Job Purpose
As the Assistant Financial Controller you are expected to provide Financial Reporting support to the Financial Controller. This includes reports on a regular basis to facilitate managerial decision. Financial statements preparation with the assigned markets, gathering financial forecasting information from a variety of sources/systems, within the timetable and in the forms required by Corporate guidelines.
Education, Experience & Skills
- University educated (Degree) in Finance, Accountancy, Business, Economics.
- Professional Accountancy Qualifications (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) is an added advantage
- 5 years of field experience in Financial reporting.
- Experience working within a complex Multinational Company is an added advantage
- Good working knowledge of SAP
- Expertise in creating or extracting information from /to Excel databases and use of advanced formulas.
- Proficient financial knowledge of analysis, evaluation, modeling, and forecasting with strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical skills - ability to gather and analyse data from a wide range of sources.
- Coordination, planning, and organisation skills - demonstrated ability to prioritise workload in order to meet critical deadlines
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for the reporting of financial results for China market with commentary including income, balance sheet, and cash flow which is accurate, complete, and:
- Fully compliant with all relevant accounting standards, current best practice, and any other regulations
- Consistently applies accounting policies which are appropriate to the current business environment
- Tightly controls transaction activity that operates in line with global processes and incorporates best-practice financial controls
- Delivers insight to the Division in key areas of risk, growth, and performance making recommendations for continuous improvements and remedial action as required
- Review financial information against historical run rates and future growth plans
- Owns the Market balance sheets including approval of reconciliations
- Review of accounting papers
- Supports and is responsible for the inputs to the external and internal financial audits for their Division
