Company Brief:
Our client is a global leader in Insurance and Re-insurance solutions, seeking to recruit a “Chief Accountant” for their office in Beirut, Lebanon. Position will be reporting to the Senior Finance Manager.
Job Requirements:
• Responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely execution of the daily accounting processes, such as accounts payable and receivables, financial closing & consolidations, processing payroll, reconciliations, maintaining records of petty cash and controlling fixed assets
• Ensure records of all financial transactions are accurate and up-to-date
• Oversee financial discrepancies investigations and internal audit findings and provide support and recommendations for the efficient resolution of cases
• Review and approve bank reconciliation and third party reconciliation
• Manage relationship with vendors and monitor all vendors related activities and transactions
• Maintain, monitor and collect on various accounts receivable
• Monitor processing of payrolls as per applicable policies and procedures
• Monitor research and benchmarking studies; analyse data collected to generate comprehensive analytical and numerical reports
• Ensure appropriate financial control in compliance with applicable laws and regulations
• Cooperate with external auditors to carry-out external auditing
• Advise and assist management in the compilation and control of budgets
• Supervise the day-to-day operation of the accounting providing expertise and knowledge to accountants
• Monitor the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Chief Accountant preferably in the insurance industry
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or any related fields
• Master's degree is a plus
• Must be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
• Knowledge in Finance, Accounting and Cost control principles
• Experience in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
• Knowledgeable about the Lebanese NSSF, Taxation and Labor Laws
