Job Description

Finance Analyst - TCA

Derby / Hybrid (3 days a week in the office)

Full time

Why Rolls-Royce?

An exciting opportunity has arisen for you to join us as a Finance Analyst within the Civil Aerospace Services organisation based in Derby.

As a Finance Analyst you will have direct exposure to a specific engine programme. The role holder will be expected to fully understand the P&L and Balance Sheet implications of a suite of long-term TotalCare contracts. These contracts support a substantial financial inflow to the business, and it is critical that we manage them effectively as they generate significant focus both internally and with our external stakeholders.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a busy influential area of the business which will give you ample opportunities to develop your career.

We'll provide an environment where you can be yourself. An inclusive, digital-first culture that invests in you, gives you a platform for continuous learning, and access to an incredible breadth and depth of opportunities to grow your career.

We offer excellent development, a competitive salary and exceptional benefits. These include bonus, employee support assistance and employee discounts.

Hybrid working is a way in which our people can balance their time between the office, home or another remote location. It's a locally managed and flexed informal discretionary arrangement. As a minimum we're all expected to attend the workplace for collaboration and other specific reasons, frequency will depend on business needs, nature of role, what works for the team and for the individual. Discover more on our GBS Service Portal about hybrid working.

What you will be doing:

You will deliver the monthly actual financial results and provide the necessary understanding and explanation of the performance variances (to budget and latest forecasts, but also movement to prior years). This enables the business to identify the necessary actions to close performance gaps, generate in-year value and address stakeholder questions. Includes review of balance sheet reconciliations and completion of local balance sheet reviews with relevant stakeholders. You will also;
  • Deliver the key financial budgets & forecasts working alongside the engine programme business partners to ensure that the submitted result is understood, approved and represents a realistic view of future business performance to ultimately enhance investor confidence.
  • Be able to articulate changes in long-term contract costing assumptions and the subsequent impact on the underlying financial performance of the business. This enables the programmes to understand core drivers and business levers enabling them to articulate their impact at a programme, region, customer or Civil aerospace level.
  • Deliver improvements to the analysis, understanding and communication of the net long-term contract balances in both actuals and forecasts to support stakeholder queries.
  • Drive the necessary assurance and integrity of the financial results through effective process control management, including remediation of identified control weaknesses including strong process documentation.
  • Actively engage in delivery of process improvement by challenging the status quo, continually contributing to improving our ability to produce accurate, timely and value-add information and analysis to our stakeholders.
  • Ownership of both core external audit and internal reporting requirements throughout the year, demonstrating right-first time delivery.
Who we are looking for:

Being a part of Rolls-Royce you'll know we embrace agility, are bold, pursue collaboration and seek simplicity in everything we do. These principles form our values and behaviours and are an essential component of our assessment process and are fundamental qualities that we seek for all roles.
  • Qualified accountant or working towards (CIMA/ACCA/ACA)

  • Resilience, problem solving and good judgment.
