Financial Accountant in the Financial Reporting: Balance Sheet Reconciliations & Control Team

We are looking for a Financial Accountant to join our Financial Reporting team. What You’ll Do:

In your role, you’ll collaborate with different people across a range of departments and skillsets. Here’s a flavour of your day-to-day:

  • You will be performing Balance Sheet Reconciliations across all entities, in a quality and timely manner.
  • You will contribute to risk assessments and drive actions to address the root causes that persistently lead to operational risk losses by challenging both historical and proposed practices.
  • You will evaluate the current set of in-scope Reconciliations & Controls, recommending ways to optimise, and further automate.
  • You will continuously review and evolvement of outputs, together with effective reconciliations, ensuring appropriateness of controls in line with business requirements.
  • You will assist in coordinating audits, examinations, and deliverable requirements from internal and external reviewers by supporting coordinating activities within the team.
  • Ability to work closely with various key stakeholders within the business and bring knowledge from various sources to support the balances held within the Balance Sheet.
  • Work collaboratively across different teams, particularly the financial reporting and retail teams.
  • Bring new ideas to the team and the business using initiative and experience.
  • Contribute to ad-hoc projects, as required.

What You’ll Bring

Here at Primark, we want everyone to feel valued – so please bring your authentic self to work, of course with some other key experience and abilities for this role in particular:

  • Fully qualification in accounting (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
  • At least 3 years of experience in accounting or auditing, preferably in a multinational environment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of IFRS and local GAAP, as well as relevant regulations and frameworks.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy, with great analytical and problem-solving skills.
