What is the opportunity?
To provide strategic leadership and influence the direction of the target financial and regulatory reporting operating model, while ensuring adherence to policy and driving initiatives to enhance regulatory reporting processes across the Group.
You will collaborate and build relationship with multiple partners, within both 1LOD and 2LOD functions, across the Group who support regulatory reporting processes, including exposure to executive risk committees.
In this role, you will:
- Provide strategic leadership for 1LoD on all Regulatory reporting, overseeing compliance with the Risk Management Framework, Financial and Regulatory Reporting Risk policy, regulatory reporting inventory and implementation of associated risk mitigants and controls.
- Conduct 1LoD assurance on policy implementation.
- To maintain and drive insight from the Group's regulatory reporting inventory.
- Collaborate with various divisions to identify specific reports to apply data validation and reconciliation tools, ensuring alignments with regulatory requirements and internal reporting standards.
- Evaluate and optimise reporting processes, recommending and implementing improvements. Engaging with regulatory bodies on reporting requirements.
- Maintain working relationships with a diverse group of partners including process subject matter experts /process owners and 2LOD colleagues.
- Lead the development and implementation of a refined target operating model.
- Align the model with the reporting strategy and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with key partners to ensure the strategy is agile, adaptable and supports the Group long-term objectives.
- Monitor and report on performance indicators against benchmarks.
- Support the identification and implementation of corrective measures as needed to ensure continuous improvement.
- Present regular progress updates to relevant committees outlining key achievements, challenges and proposed strategies for continuous improvement in financial and regulatory reporting.
What will make you stand out?
- Experience working with risk, audit, compliance, operational risk and/or control functions
- Consistent track record of following internal and external, regulatory, operational, compliance and/or key control systems and procedures
- Ability to innovate and enhance/challenge current approaches
- While not crucial to apply the following would be a strong bonus!
- Risk management qualification or 3rd level degree (finance, business or similar);
- Experience working in a financial or regulatory reporting function; experience of influencing senior management;
- Strong understanding of the regulatory environment and relevant regulatory reporting regulations

The Regulatory Reporting, Controls and Operations (RRCO) team sits within the Group Finance function. RRCO is responsible for the delivery of a wide range of supervisory and statistical regulatory reports, for multiple licensed entities, to multiple regulators in a controlled, timely and efficient manner. It is also accountable for the delivery of non-routine regulatory requests and the development of new regulatory reporting requirements.
RRCO operates in a regulated environment which demands the highest of standards. Submission of high quality and timely regulatory returns is a fundamental requirement of the Group's banking licence. RRCO is a professional, proactive & dynamic team with significant engagement with colleagues in all key functions such as business partners, finance, risk and treasury to ensure the accuracy of returns.
