The main responsibilities of the Instrument Data team supervisor are to ensure the smooth and well-controlled running of the business function, whilst providing comprehensive support and oversight across the team of analysts, in relation to the set-up, maintenance & accuracy of financial instrument and reference data

What you will be responsible for
As Instrument Data Supervisor you will
- Manage the daily workload of requests sent to Instrument Data team alongside other team lead.
- Set a high-benchmark for operational and service excellence. Lead by example, holding self and peers to account to deliver precise business outcomes. Drive your team to individual and combined success.
- Ensure that the department procedures are kept current and written to a high quality in line with organisational standards
- Provide consistent and accurate MI of key performance and risk indicators for senior management.
- Supervise financial instrument set-up and on-going data maintenance covering all asset types
- Investigation and resolution of data exceptions that are triggered at different stages of the data flow process. Responsible for authorisation of new instrument creations.
- Identify as an SME within the team with an in-depth knowledge of all aspects of the data processes and its impact on data consumers
- Act as an escalation point of contact for queries and questions within the team or different business areas
- Work closely with internal/external clients to continuously assess & meet their requirements.
- Ensure that agreed service level agreements are adhered to.
- Work closely and build collaborative relationships with internal clients, regularly reviewing processes and outstanding issues to ensure a high level of service is maintained.
- Identify control weaknesses relating to the Data Services, recommend and implement procedural and process change.
- Proactively monitor industry regulations and their potential impact on Data Services owned data processes

- Experience of end-to-end data lifecycle for instruments, funds, counterparty, and reference data in data systems
- Experience of leading small and mid-size multi-functional teams
- Can demonstrate a good understanding of the financial data industry and data technologies
- Degree-educated or obtains industry relevant qualifications
- Ideally some experience with satisfying regulatory demands on data
- Able to work under pressure and to meet strict deadlines/KPI’s & SLA’s
- Flexible and able to adapt to changes in the process and procedure
- Client focused and able to communicate effectively with all levels of seniority
- Ability to identify & propose process improvements
- Experience in delivering, reviewing, signing off, and testing on data requirements to an IT/Change function
Education & Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of work experience in a similar Data Management function for a buy-side institution preferred

- Excel – Intermediate/Advanced
- VBA/Macros or SQL (Preferred)
- Microsoft Office
- Bloomberg, FTID, Reuters and/or other data vendor systems
