Finance - Strategic Planning and Stress Testing Department

Hang Seng's Financial Control function works closely with the Bank's stakeholders, including business partners, shareholders, regulators, and external examiners. We function as their accountants and business partners in providing comprehensive information on financial management, financial planning, financial reporting and compliance, capital planning and reporting, financial control & SOX control, tax advisory, insurance finance, and treasury and investment finance.

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Assistant Financial and Accounting Manager to join our team. The Assistant Finance and Accounting Manager will be responsible for the preparation of the Bank's budget and forecast. He/She will collaborate with various departments to gather budget requirements, analyze financial data, track spending, and ensure adherence to budgetary guidelines. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial planning and analysis, and a proven track record in budget management.

Principal responsibilities
  • Perform financial planning resource (FRP), regular financial forecast, cost management control and highlight key issues for management review.
  • Prepare budget and forecast management reports, analyze financial data and identify key insights and trends to support budget planning and forecasting.
  • Develop financial models and perform scenario analysis to evaluate the financial impact of different business decisions.
  • Maintain up-to-date management information and implement relevant control measures to ensure the integrity of financial data.
  • Digitalizes the forecasting and budgeting data riding on existing data analytical platform like Tableau to connect the forecast and budget details for better business governance, data management, visual storytelling, and collaboration.
  • Work closely with a wide range of key stakeholders and build healthy working relationships based on trust.

  • Agile, change mind-set, dynamic and inquisitive approach to work.
  • University degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration OR a related discipline, with a recognized qualification such as ACCA or HKICPA preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years' relevant experience, with good financial analysis and presentation skills as well as the ability to interpret and convey complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Exceptional drive and commitment, ability to work and thrive in a fast changing and results driven environment, and proven ability in handling competing priorities.
  • Great sense of ownership and servicing mindset to ensure efficient and effective customer service processes.
  • Applicants must possess exceptional proficiency in English writing, demonstrating the ability to produce articulate and precise written content.
  • Exceptional drive and commitment, ability to work and thrive in a fast changing and results driven environment, and proven ability in handling competing priorities.
  • Strong collaboration and effective communication skills who can work cross-functionally with various teams, departments, and stakeholders to gather inputs, align goals, and implement strategic initiatives successfully.
  • Proficiency in both English and Mandarin.
