The Role:

Based in Limerick, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing support to the Client Service team by developing insights to enable decision making with a view to developing client relationships both internally & externally. The role entails supporting clients and team members in the products and services that we manage to ensure that we provide a superior level of service to our ever increasing client base. The successful candidate will have responsibility for identifying and implementing business opportunities and prioritising efforts with the aim of exceeding our client expectations for all custody queries.

The key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Develop operating models to integrate and consolidate data into analytic tools.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, tracking deliverables.
  • Identify internal process opportunities utilising data mining and LEAN principles to improve efficiency within the company.
  • Deliver enhancements on big data analytics projects in line with department strategy.
  • Using specialist skills, partner with Northern Trust teams and stakeholders to identify additional opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide independent and unbiased critical analysis ensuring projects are delivered on time and on budget.
  • Employ Microsoft Power tools and techniques when working on project initiatives.
  • Interact and liaise with NT technology teams to resolve functional & technical queries
  • Provide various management reports and Operational MIS on strategic initiatives.
  • Communicates effectively with the Business, Management, Clients and Vendors around process change, technical upgrades and enhanced functionality. 
  • Writes proposals for system changes/enhancements.  Implement new efficiencies to improve accuracy and timeliness and reduce costs, risk and errors.
  • Re-engineers processes to ensure that both business and client needs are met and efficient processes are in place. In particular the offshore process and the workflow solutions
  • Promote the highest standards of integrity, accountability & client service.
  • Analyse operational procedures and processes, working with closely with functional teams across Northern Trust. 

Skills/Qualifications:

The successful candidate will benefit from having:

  • Self-starter with advanced analytical and problem solving skills
  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst in a financial institution is an advantage
  • Strong desktop, IT and systems skills
  • Ability to liaise and translate between technical and non-technical departments.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and to prioritise tasks
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint, experience in building macros a requirement.
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft power tools, including Power BI
  • Good analytical and report-writing skills
  • Ability to communicate with partners and clients at all levels.
  • Strong team player with a positive ‘can do’ attitude
  • Proven ability to improve service delivery, increase efficiency, effectiveness and overall productivity.
