Job Summary: The Accounts Payable Officer is responsible for managing and processing all invoices received for payment and undertaking the payment of all creditors in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process accounts and incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures.
  • Perform day-to-day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, and recording accounts payable data.
  • Reconcile the accounts payable ledger to ensure that all bills and payments are accounted for and properly posted.
  • Reconcile credit card statements and bank statements
  • Verify and investigate discrepancies, if any, by reconciling vendor accounts and monthly vendor statements.
  • Generate reports detailing accounts payable's status.
  • Prepare bills, invoices, and bank deposits.
  • Monitor and manage the company’s A/P aging reports.
  • Assist in month-end closing.
  • Maintain accurate historical records.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of accounts payable experience.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks,).
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
