About The Role

We are looking for an experienced Group Technical Accounting Manager to join our team. As part of the Group Finance Team this is an excellent opportunity to develop and progress within an ambitious plc. Working within a dedicated team this role will offer excellent exposure and involve supporting on the group's strategic initiatives from an accounting perspective.

Kerry operates a Hybrid working policy, candidates will be required to work from our offices in Naas each week.

What will I be doing?

The Group Technical Accounting Manager will report directly to the Group Controller and the key responsibilities will be as follows;
  • Monitor existing and new accounting and regulatory policies to ensure that the Group complies with all relevant accounting standards (IFRS) and regulations including Company Law.
  • Work in partnership with other departments (tax, treasury, legal, M&A) to consider and advise on new or complex accounting scenarios to support decision making.
  • Review of corporate legal entities.
  • Review non routine contracts to advise on accounting implications.
  • Prepare technical accounting papers for management and auditors on complex transactions.
  • Advising the finance team on the accounting implications of all non-routine finance transactions such as mergers and acquisitions, group restructurings, refinancing, etc.
  • Review the Group’s financial statements and provide technical accounting input where required.
  • Develop, maintain, and monitor adherence to the Group's Financial Accounting and Reporting Policies in accordance with IFRS.
  • Assistance with Regulatory correspondence and filings.
  • Assessment and support on implementation of new accounting standards.
  • Provide high quality and practical training and education for finance and non-finance colleagues.
  • Support the Finance team on strategic projects as required.

What do I need to be successful?

  • The ideal candidate will be an experienced qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA) with proven ability to analyse complex financial information and translate it into meaningful insights with strong attention to detail.
  • Extensive knowledge of IFRS accounting and strong ability to evaluate technical issues, research and analyse facts.
  • Problem solver, solution driven with the ability to work on own initiative.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Collaborative and proactive in building effective relationships.
