Key Accountabilities:

 

New investment of surplus cash fund to be placed in appropriate product and tenure to increase earning.

 

  • Track, prepare and monitor confirmation of maturity to ensure the accurate amount of principal and interest is received on the day of maturing.
  • Plan daily new investment activities to match cash flow requirements.
  • Prepare and monitoring ACE limit of the counterparty before any placement is made to prevent from exceeding the ACE limit.
  • Negotiate and deal with bank’s money market dealers for good rate for interest/profit funds deposited/invested.
  • Key-in into TRS Compass System and print deal slips of the placements to continue with settlement process.
  • Confirm all investment dealings via phone and/or e mail. (to be done by other dealer)
  • Prepare and produce investment report for Investment Committee meeting.
  • Prepare, produce and provide reports relevant to the investment performance and debt on a monthly basis:
  1. Weighted Average Rate of Return (WARR)
  2. Weighted Average cost of capital (WACC)
  3. Investment report on monthly basis.

 

  • Attend on any queries on investment from PMB Group, UEM Group, EPF, auditor and any third parties (facility agent, trustee and MOF)
  • Obtain rundown rates from bank dealers and record in rundown report on monthly basis to update market deposit rates.
  • Prepare and produce Treasury News Blast to update current economic situation and email to all relevant parties on weekly basis.
  • Track and reconfirm the figures which are relevant to investment items in month end financial statement.

 

Explore new investment opportunities other than money market to increase earnings.

 

  • Initiate, analyse and propose to the investment team on new investment opportunities.
  • Plan and set appointment with banks/fund managers to present new investment proposals for both Islamic and Conventional (besides money market product) produces.
  • Prepare proposal paper to the management for investment that meets the criteria set out in the Treasury Policy Manual of PMB Group to obtain approval.
  • Search for new issuance of private debt securities and prepare recommendation form and purchase/tender letter to the agent bank for approval by the management.
  • Ensure accurate journal entries for Private Debt Securities and SIF.

 

Manage and monitor cash movement in the Company to ensure sufficient Cash Flow.

  • Track and update daily cash flow forecast before and after doing any placement of the day.
  • Maintain 6 months cash flow forecast on a monthly basis.
  • Request information from other departments i.e CFP and ACC to ensure current cash flow is fully equipped with relevant info.
  • Alert all related parties on shortages of fund, where necessary.
  • Request advance or OD from related party in case of insufficient fund.

 

Back up – Compliance to the Loan Covenants as per procedure

  • Email on quarterly basis, to all relevant head of departments on their respective department’s compliances checklist to the loan covenants
  • Compile all departments’ submission/confirmations and email reminders to those who have not submitted
  • Prepare memo to CFO and CC to Head of LSD and CAD informing whether or not PLUS has fully complied with all relevant loan covenants.

 

Back up - Bank Guarantee - Commercial/Maintenance Bond/Design Bond as per Company’s requirement

  • To provide support service to company’s operations.
  • Produce letter to Bank for new BG application.
  • Liaise/email with Bank Trade Services Centre for the new issuance of BG.
  • Prepare application of BG and supporting documents.
  • Monitor and follow up with bank on the application to ensure the BG can be released within required time period.
  • Update info on BG’s amount usage, expiry and charges in the BG Monitoring file.
  • Maintain limit of BG facility 1 & 2.
  • Produce a memo from HOD to GM Finance/CFO to pay bank charges and commission fee of BG issuance/extension.
  • Monitor and follow up with bank on any cancellation of BG.
  • Check the content of the newly renewed guarantee when received from the bank before sending to respective department/LLM or further submission to government (KKM)/TNB.

 

Back up – Prepare and ensure timely and accurately submission of the relevant reports

  • Email and remind (whenever necessary) relevant parties for submission of repots to be forwarded to external parties.
  • Compile and prepare the relevant monthly/quarterly reports.
  • Prepare covering letter for onward submission to external parties.

 

ISO requirement matters

Participate in reviewing and updating manuals/procedures/work instructions.

 

Other duties

Undertake other duties as directed by Managers/ Head of Treasury/ Head of Finance Division/ CFO.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance or Business Studies or LCCI or equivalent professional qualification
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in relevant field
