Background This is a critical appointment to our Group to assist with the continued commercial growth and development of the business. For this challenge, Donnelly Group are looking for an outstanding individual with a strong track record of improving organisational performance and solid experience in analysing data and identifying areas for improvement. The role is ideally suited to a driven individual who has a proven track record in supporting growth, and imbedding excellence. The position will be based at our Headquarters in Dungannon, Northern Ireland, however, travel will be required across our locations to fulfil the remit of the role. Support for the role will be provided by 4 qualified accounts, 3 trainee accountants and several accounts assistants across our 9 companies. Job Description Job Title: Group Financial Controller Reporting To: Finance Director Responsible For: Finance teams for 9 Group companies Location: Headquarters in Dungannon, Northern Ireland Overall Role Objective: To lead and develop the Finance team to achieve the Group's business ambition, to be engaged in the setting and delivery of the strategic Finance direction, together with ensuring day-to-day reactive activities are managed in a timely, accurate and appropriate manner. Job Specific Responsibilities: Oversee the accounts and financial reporting for the 9 Group companies. Create monthly and annual reports to identify results, trends, and financial forecasts. Manage cash flow by tracking transactions and regularly reviewing internal reports. Supervise and manage the finance department staff, including site accountants and financial assistants. Motivate and lead finance team members by clarifying roles and providing helpful feedback. Review accounting systems and processes and provide development plans for the department. Continually ensure financial reporting systems comply with all government regulations and legislation. Collaborate with external auditors to ensure proper compliance with all regulations. Develop budgets and financial plans for the Group based on research and data reports. Review all financial plans and budgets regularly to look for cost reduction opportunities. Examine all financial reports and data closely to check for discrepancies. Create systems to prevent errors in data collection and calculations. Report to the Finance Director with timely and accurate financial information. Assist the Finance Director in presenting reports to senior executives, stakeholders, and Board members. Assist with implementation and running of an internal audit function. This job description should not be regarded as conclusive or definitive. Person Specification Applicants must meet the following essential criteria and competencies by the closing date for applications, as a minimum. Essential Criteria: Professional Accounting qualification ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, ICAI or other relevant body. At least 5 years post qualification experience. At least 3 years experience working in a commercial environment. Must have relevant experience with financial systems. At least 3 years proven experience of managing a finance team. Ability to influence across all levels of the company through strong communications skills, impactful messages and personal credibility. Honesty, integrity and reliability. High attention to detail. A full current driving licence. Desirable Criteria: Experience of working within the motor industry. Working knowledge of CDK Global software. Previous experience reporting to director level within a business.
