The Group Senior Accountant will take ownership of the financial reporting of various international legal entities within the Group. The role will work closely with the supply, commercial and marketing teams along with the local finance teams out in the regions to ensure that the day-to-day transactions and monthly reporting activities are completed accurately.

Client Details

Our client is a highly regarded organisation in Chippenham. Due to business growth, they are looking to appoint a Group Senior Accountant into a newly created position.


The Group Senior Accountant will be responsible for;

  • Ownership of various international legal entities, responsible for the month end close and statutory reporting.
  • Key contact with auditors on matters relating to the international legal entities.
  • Balance sheet and P&L analysis of affiliate entities and provide detailed commentary to senior management.
  • Weekly sales analysis and review of customer discounting and rebates to ensure accuracy of cash receipts and appropriate revenue recognition.
  • Partner with supply chain, commercial, finance and marketing departments in affiliate regions along with UK teams with regards to management of accruals, provisions, inventory, and accrued customer discounts.
  • Preparation of journals and management of month-end schedules in relation to international legal entities including accruals and prepayments.
  • Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations for the affiliates and group
  • Prepare weekly cashflows and look after day-to-day banking requirements of affiliate entities.
  • Bank reconciliation and review payment runs.
  • Ensure the international legal entities are compliant with International Accounting Standards (IFRS) with a particular focus on revenue recognition (IFRS 15) and intangible asset impairment reviews (IAS 36).
  • Develop and improve month end reporting packs of international entities and present to senior management.
  • Ensure controls are effective, clearly documented and identify areas where controls could be improved.
  • Preparation and process affiliate VAT reconciliations monthly.
  • Review all tax accounts with Group Tax Department
  • Support the affiliate entities with any adhoc projects.


The successful Group Senior Accountant will:

  • Hold a professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Strong experience in an international, corporate environment (desirable)
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS
  • Excellent analytical skills with a strong attention to detail.
