What is the opportunity?

This position offers an exciting and challenging opportunity for someone to join the senior management of the finance function in a key division within Bank of Ireland Group.

The role provides an opportunity to advance your accounting and senior leadership capability in a major company in the Life & Pensions industry.

The role involves reporting and presenting to the Board Audit Committee on the financial statements at Group and Statutory level and on Solvency II QRT's and SFCR / RSR.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead the Wealth & Insurance Division Financial control and reporting team
  • Manage Group Reporting on the recently introduced IFRS17 basis.
  • Manage the New Ireland Statutory Financial Statements.
  • Prepare Solvency II QRT's and the Solvency & Financial Condition Report.
  • Lead on the overall Financial Control and ensure the company operates to the highest control standards including ensuring that all IFC obligations are met.
  • Manage the key relationships to ensure all internal and external reporting obligations are met, risks are appropriately handled and operational processes are effective.

What will make you stand out?

You are a qualified accountant with a proven track record, experience and knowledge across all finance areas along with strong technical accounting skills and control focus. Deep experience of Life Assurance accounting and finance together with a broad understanding of the financial services sector. You have a strong understanding of the business in order to influence colleagues and partners.

You have an ability to analyse sophisticated financial data to ensure appropriate representation and interpretation of the financial impact of different functions across business divisions. Excellent communications skills, effective leadership skills and knowledge of the financial structure, operation and taxation of life and pensions products.

New Ireland Assurance is a market leading life and pension provider and has a 20% share of the life and pensions new business market with assets in excess of €21 billion and premiums across insurance and investment contracts in excess of €3 billion.

This is a hybrid role and can be done anywhere in the Republic of Ireland with the primary office location as Dublin. Travel will be required for in person collaboration exact frequency to be agreed with manager.
