Our client is a Financial Services organisation with an established Group Tax team, based in Leeds city centre.
It was seen a period of change and transformation over the past year which leaves it in a position where it is looking to grow. The organisation has a good reputation for development and progression and the calibre of individuals in the wider business is very high.
Description
Broadly, the role will invoive assisting the Head of Tax in fulfilling the UK's direct and indirect tax compliance obligations and provide assistance with tax advisory work across wider Group.
- Undertake the UK Corporation Tax compliance, including calculating UK payments on account for Corporate Tax and preparing HMRC correspondence.
- Prepare quarterly VAT, Insurance Premium Tax and CT61 returns including supplementary filings.
- Prepare the PAYE Settlement Agreement calculation and provide employee taxes oversight for the UK business.
- Undertake the Group's consolidated year-end and interim tax provision, assisting in the statutory audit of tax and preparing the UK financial statements disclosures and tax journals.
- Undertake Group Tax estimates for budgeting/forecasting purposes.
- Support implementing the Group's Transfer Pricing policy including functional analysis and preparation of documentation.
- Provide technical support to the Head of Tax and provide tax advice and training to UK finance and the wider UK business.
- Undertake day to day liaison with UK external tax advisors and international advisors.
- Provide input to project work as requested and undertake any other reasonable duties as and when required including provide tax support to the Group as requested.
Profile
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or CTA
- Robust UK Tax Knowledge including Corporation Tax.
- Strong IT skills (particularly Excel).
- Well organised approach to work.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, with proven ability to liaise with all levels.
- A flexible approach to work.
- The ability to work to tight deadlines.
- Previous proven experience in tax, either in Industry or Practice.
