Job Description

As a Senior Associate for Securitized Products and Credit in our Valuation Control Group (VSG), you will play a pivotal role in our Warsaw-based businesses. We offer ongoing expert training and development to ensure you are on par with our global trading locations such as London, New York, and Hong-Kong. Your role will be crucial in ensuring our firm risk portfolios are fairly valued. You will set independent pricing and valuation adjustments policies, execute & generate results, and collaborate with our Trading team to remediate and prevent issues. You will also work closely with teams like Product Control, Market Risk, Model Governance, and Quantitative Research to ensure a comprehensive understanding of business issues. You will have exposure to Business heads, Regulators, and both internal and external audits. You will report to the Head of Valuation Control Group for the European Coverage and the respective Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) Valuation Control lead.

Job responsibilities

  • Performs valuations for Securitized Products and Credit businesses in Warsaw
  • Owns and oversees the valuation control process and methodology including: price verification/benchmark process, fair value adjustments, prudential valuation adjustments, fair value hierarchy
  • Assists with various VCG established practices and control initiatives as well as perform necessary work relating to management reporting, regulatory mandates and consistency within the broader VCG framework
  • Partners with various functional groups on valuation related issues and develop/implement appropriate measures with the goal of ensuring fair value
  • Enhances existing control framework including reviewing independent pricing processes, assessing potential coverage developments and implementing new tools to enhance control efficiency
  • Manages other value-added projects related to Business, Risk, and Finance initiatives

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • 4+ years of related experience
  • Graduate degree with finance, economics, mathematics or engineering
  • Ability to understand complex products, and analyze transaction and process flows
  • Understanding of valuation concepts as they pertain to financial products and derivatives, basic accounting knowledge
  • Analytical aptitude
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Experience with Advanced Excel, PowerPoint
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks efficiently

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Valuation Control experience
  • Prudential Valuation experience
  • Candidates with quantitative backgrounds
  • Visual Basic, automation and database skills
