Technology Budget Analyst

aG Resources is seeking a Budget Analyst from the Tech Industry for our reputable client.

Position Summary:

The purpose of the Technology Budget Analyst role is to take responsibility for reviewing budgets, conducting financial analyses, and providing recommendations to allocate funds effectively. The role holder will ensure compliance with policies and regulations, monitor spending trends, and collaborate with stakeholders to perform cost-benefit analyses and develop comprehensive budgets.

Key Responsibilities:

Policies, Processes and Procedures:

  • Follow all relevant policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions and ensure work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
  • Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes, and practices, considering leading practices, improvement of business processes, cost reduction, and productivity improvement.
  • Promote the implementation and adherence to relevant policies, processes, and operating procedures to others


  • Review budget proposals and funding requests
  • Conduct cost/benefit and other types of analyses
  • Submit budget recommendations for approval or rejection of funding requests
  • Explain and defend recommendations to management and stakeholders
  • Collaborate with managers to develop the final consolidated budget
  • Ensure the organization’s budget adheres to legal regulations
  • Oversee expenditure and identify trends in spending
  • Make forecasts for future budget needs
  • Suggest improvements to increase profits (e.g. spending cuts)
  • Prepare periodical and special reports

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • BSc/MSc in accounting, finance, business, or a relevant field
  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience in accounting/finance
  • Proven experience as a budget analyst
  • Knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods
  • Understanding of budgeting and regulatory requirements
  • Excellent mathematical ability and an analytical mind
  • Experience with ERP software packages
  • Proficient in MS Office and databases; knowledge of analytics software is a plus
  • Outstanding communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Attention to detail
