Excellent role for a candidate looking to continue and build on their accounting experience (all round role with focus on Accounts payable) within an investment management firm in Central London. Full study support for ACCA. Hybrid working.

Client Details

Investment Management firm based in London. Advises on a global, multi-asset class portfolio.

Description

The position is responsible for routine general ledger management including accounts payable, transactional accounting and reconciliations. Reporting to the Finance Manager, team of 8 in Finance.

  • Processing purchase invoices: entering and coding invoices (including VAT) and managing the approval workflow (by cost centre budget holders)
  • Setting up weekly payment runs, expense pay runs and individual payments as required (UK and overseas via BACs, Faster Payments, CHAPS etc.) through UK and overseas bank accounts
  • Maintaining the aged purchase ledger ensuring invoices are accounted for on receipt and tracked through to payment
  • Supplier set-up: ensure appropriate supplier information is obtained
  • Reconciliation and recording of credit card statements
  • Raising sales and recharge invoices on a monthly/quarterly basis
  • Bank reconciliation process
  • Posting cash journals to record payments/receipts from bank statements into the ledger
  • Updating Weekly Cash flow model/forecasts
  • Posting standard journals across Prepayments, Accruals
  • Maintaining the Fixed Asset Register
  • Assist with year end accounts preparation and audit process, annual budget process

Profile

  • Experience of Purchase Ledger and General Ledger management including month end processes
  • Understanding of VAT
  • Experience of bank and other balance sheet reconciliations
  • High degree of integrity in dealing with confidential information
  • 18 months + in an AP or similar role
  • Interest in working in Financial Services - essential
  • Keen to study for the ACCA qualification (or early stages)
  • Professional
