An exciting opportunity has arisen for a seasoned Head of Finance to join a prestigious educational institution. The successful candidate will oversee all financial operations within the institution and play a strategic role in the financial planning process.

Our client is a well-regarded and prominent educational establishment based in Oxford, boasting a student body of over 20,000. Renowned for its commitment to delivering high-quality education and research, it employs over 9,000 staff and is a significant player in the not-for-profit sector.


Lead and manage the finance team to deliver accurate and timely financial reporting
Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and financial regulations
Oversee all aspects of budgeting, financial forecasting, and financial analysis
Develop and implement effective financial policies and procedures
Participate in strategic planning and decision making at the senior management level
Manage the preparation of the institution's budget
Communicate with and present to the Board of Trustees on the institution's financial performance
Engage with external auditors and manage the audit process


A successful Head of Finance should have:

A professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
Proven experience in a similar role within the not-for-profit or education sector
Strong knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles
Excellent leadership and team management skills
Superior analytical skills and a strategic mindset

Job Offer
