About the role

The Regional Financial Controller for Turkey region is part of our Accounting Center of Expertise (CoE) team within the Controlling organisation and is critical in ensuring compliance with US GAAP, statutory and tax requirements in the country in scope.

The role of the Accounting CoE is to ensure the accuracy and integrity of US GAAP and statutory financial statements for entities across the EMEA region, provide expertise in complex accounting matters and decisions, and build strong partnerships with EMEA Baxter Business Services centre, local country finance, commercial to support financial and accounting processes in compliance with US GAAP and statutory requirements and company’s policies and procedures.

With this position, additional hours at critical times (e.g., month-end) may be required. Also, and on an exceptional basis, the role may require work on public holidays.

What will you be doing?
  • Overseeing and supporting US GAAP, statutory, tax accounting and reporting for the entities in scope, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of the reporting.
  • Ensuring adherence of processes to the company's policies and procedures, internal and external audit requirements and local rules and regulations.
  • Supporting the strengthening of financial processes and internal controls and performing regular balance sheet reviews.
  • Managing internal and external audits.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with other finance and non-finance teams, as well as external providers (including auditors), to ensure execution of end-to-end finance processes and improvement of process efficiency.
  • Leading resolution of accounting and tax issues.
  • Participating in local, regional, and global projects, as required.
  • Maintaining focus on continuous process improvement.
Who are we looking for?
  • Financial Professional with a minimum of 6-8 years of accounting and controlling experience.
  • Business Partner with experience in a multinational environment, audits, good knowledge of US, local GAAPs, tax matters and working experience in Turkey.
  • Person with excellent communication skills, diplomatic, flexible “can do” mindset, and ability to multitask and prioritize.
  • Solution-oriented person who seeks improvements and does not settle down for the status quo.
  • Fluent English and Turkish speaker with strong reporting tools (Experience in JDE and Blackline is an advantage)
  • In terms of education, Master’s degree in Finance/Accounting.
