The Role

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Financial Accountant to join our Financial Accounting team within our Renal business. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to develop and grow in their career in a multinational organisation with excellent support, team spirit and exposure to the Commercial business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce financial statements and records in accordance with US GAAP, local statutory requirements and Baxter policies and procedures ensuring appropriate internal control environment
  • Ensure the integrity, timeliness and accuracy of the ANZ General Ledgers and its monthly financial and operational results are reported correctly to local management and Baxter Corporate
  • Review & support business models adopted with Baxter Business Services (BBS) and outsourced ADP to ensure financial data is accurate and delivered in a timely manner
  • Payroll - support investigation to ensure transactions a clearing in a timely manner
  • Complete statutory accounts and ASIC annual returns to comply with Australian Corporations law and liaison with external auditors.
  • Completion of Intercompany recharges
  • Completion of monthly Managed Capital Base and Cashflow reporting for operating reviews including budgeting and forecasting requirements
  • Maintain the company’s insurance policies and coordinate insurance claims to ensure that the company’s policies are renewed and up to date for ANZ
  • Tax compliance including payroll tax, PAYG instalments & GST review
  • Support the business with collections roadblocks & P2P issues
  • Ensure all financial reporting follows accounting policies and procedures, which includes both US & local GAAP and Baxter policies and procedures
  • Other tasks as required.

Key Requirements of the role include:

  • Degree qualified within relevant area
  • 3-5 years in Financial Accounting, ideally within a large multinational complex matrix organisation
  • Advanced Excel knowledge is desirable
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Positive, flexible attitude and willingness to exceed expectations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with sound business acumen.
