Title: Service Line (based in Kuala Lumpur) – (Associate, Analyst, Consultant)

Work you’ll do

The candidate will work with a team of highly motivated advisory professionals in the Assurance Department and will be tasked with helping clients navigate technical accounting challenges related to e.g.:

  • Mergers and acquisitions;
  • Restructuring (including common control transactions);
  • Employee compensation plans;
  • Revenue contracts;
  • Leasing contracts;
  • IFRS convergence and implementation; etc.

The candidate should possess a degree in accounting with relevant professional qualifications with at least 3 years of relevant audit or accounting advisory experience in a professional practice. The candidate should also possess the following:

  1. Deep knowledge and experience in application of the International Financial Reporting Standards (“IFRS”) (e.g., audit or accounting advisory);
  2. Keen interest in identifying and addressing accounting issues;
  3. Keen interest and inquisitiveness in performing in-depth research on IFRS matters (including deep dive into the ‘whys’ of certain accounting requirements);
  4. An open mind (including open to challenge current convention and providing out of box solutions)
  5. Good proficiency in the English language – written and spoken
  6. Good communication skills and enjoys interactions with various stakeholders.

The following would be a plus:

  1. Good understanding of interaction between accounting principles and related local tax implications.
  2. Possess knowledge and experience in carbon credits accounting;
  3. Possess in depth knowledge of other accounting standards aside from IFRS.
