About The Role

The Global Finance Director - Operational Sustainability will review the current and future resourcing needs to ensure each area of the operational Beyond The Horizon strategy is partnered to deliver on their aspect of the overall strategy. In partnership with Integrated Operations (IO) Finance peers, design and implement a re-invigorated performance management framework that evolves to a regular forum that is engaged, cross functional, future focused & technology enabled.

This exciting role will work to ensure forums established inform adherence/non-conformance to strategic plans across each sub-area of operational sustainability strategy, establish positive working relationships with IO leadership to ensure support for changes needed to embed the aforementioned. This role will also create a regular and consistent executive update, presenting on same on a periodic basis.

Kerry operates a Hybrid working policy, candidates will be required to work from our offices in Naas each week.


  • Oversee the implementation of a comprehensive internal operational sustainability reporting process aligned to the Beyond the Horizon strategy, ensuring clear accountability for function leads with respect to target achievement. Manage through risks and opportunities as part of this process.
  • Work cross functionally to ensure that operational data collection is robust, repeatable, automated and audit worthy (as part of growing need for external assurance for all externally reported sustainability metrics).
  • Lead through changes required in current ways of working to ensure upcoming sustainability reporting requirements are catered for. Similarly, influence changes in capital prioritisation and financial appraisals to enable the execution of the group wide sustainability strategy.
  • Partner the relevant operational function leads (both globally and regionally) to bring a holistic view of the functions plans to achieve their respective BTH strategy objectives. Ensure all plans are standardised in terms of data capture, minimum criteria being met and ultimate consolidation via wave (or similar) to inform a rolling view of operational sustainability performance against targets
  • Work collaboratively with IO Finance and operational function leads to embed a clear and consistent performance management cadence. Leverage these forums to hold function leads and plan owners to account against respective operational targets.
  • Lead/input to periodic updates of executive presentations, performance & strategy updates as and when required.
  • Ambassador for change globally, driving awareness across the business on sustainability topics.
  • Provide oversight and support the delivery of capex strategic projects.
  • The role will sit within the Global IO Finance team but will work closely with and be supported by the Group Strategic reporting teams, to ensure access to ESG relevant information and guidance.


  • Lead a team to deliver a comprehensive performance measurement and management framework around all areas of operational sustainability metrics.
  • Inform various internal stakeholders on historic and future operational sustainability performance on a periodic basis, driving accountability, root cause analysis and corrective actions among function owners as applicable.
  • Partner sustainability leaders in the validation of short, medium- and long-term operational sustainability leader
  • Drive discipline of efficient reporting process and continuous improvement among both the IO Finance team and operational function leads
  • Act as main point of contact for external sustainability reporting team, external auditors and commercial sustainability leads in the organisation.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Operations Finance Leader with strong relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Sustainability subject matter expertise an advantage.
  • Proven change management, stakeholder management, influencing, program leadership and delivery experience.
  • Proven people management and executive presentations skills
