Baxter plans to spin off our ~$5B Kidney Care segment into an independent, publicly traded company. This position will take a mid-level manager role in the preparation of the company’s quarterly and annual federal and state income tax provision with a focus on tax technology, such as OneSource OTP. In addition, this roll will prepare the company’s U.S. consolidated federal income tax return and state tax returns through tax technology lens such as OneSource OIT. This position will also leverage tax technology to improve all areas of tax operations, including process automation, data extraction, data insight, platform collaboration, process flow and integration with ERP systems.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Assist with the preparation of annual / quarterly tax provision process through the initial set-up and rollover of OneSource OTP.
  • Assist with the preparation of US consolidated tax return and various state income tax returns through the initial set-up and rollover of OneSource OIT.
  • Execute on process improvements, through the use of Power BI, Alteryx, and/or Excel Macros.
  • Leverage AI tools to assist with TP documentation management, and Indirect tax planning opportunities.
  • Leverage other technology or future technology to improve all areas of tax operations, including process automation, data extraction, data insight, platform collaboration, process flow and integration with ERP systems.

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Economics, Finance or related field
  • CPA certification strongly preferred; MST and/or JD is a plus.
  • 5 plus years of corporate tax technology background preferably with experience with financial statement reporting and tax return preparation.
  • Working knowledge of ASC 740 standards and broad-based experience in federal, state and US-International income taxes.
  • Experience with working closely with various groups within a Corporate Tax function, including U.S. federal compliance, tax accounting, U.S.-international tax planning and non-U.S. income tax groups.
  • Experience with working with corporate IT.
  • Highly proficient in OTP, OIT and familiar with / a power user of Power BI, Alteryx, and Excel.
  • Working knowledge of Python.
  • Strong interest in learning and deploying other technologies such as AI.
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills for multi-tasking.
  • Accounting or IT-related undergraduate degree or tax degree preferred.

At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $104,000 to $143,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
