BDO's Global Outsourcing (GO) manages accounting, payroll and compliance projects (tax and company secretarial services) across Europe, Africa and Asia on behalf of multinational corporations.  GO's projects are managed by a team of professionals and supported by an online electronic platform known as the portal.  The portal is a secure online workflow, project management tool that allows   clear visibility and central control of project deliverables, accessible by clients, BDO coordination team and local BDO teams.  It is a highly secure platform that tracks process flows and acts as a repository for client information. An assistant manager's primary responsibility is to assist the managers & directors in managing the Global Outsourcing team on a day-to-day basis to include: Manage a portfolio of clients including control of billings and cash collections within the firm's criteria. Proactively managing escalations Manage & train the client service team Support the Managers, Directors and Partners building sustainable external and internal client relationships. Support the managers in work with bid teams and be involved with client presentations Participate in special assignments on an ad hoc basis. The role is focussed around project management involving review, monitoring and management of people and processes. You will be expected to consistently demonstrate core BDO values and the required standard of competency for the level of this role, which includes adherence with compliance and confidentiality standards. Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities Lead implementations and project start-ups progressing to business as usual Assist in managing the overall project team on a day-to-day basis. Assist managers and directors to manage client assignments, which include determining the resource requirements, monitoring progress against budget and established timeframe, supporting junior team members and resolving all project issues prior to manager and director escalation. Act as a major point of contact within the firm for the client together with the manager and director.  This includes responding quickly to, as well as anticipating, client requests/needs, keeping clients informed of progress in relation to all aspects of the service provided and maintaining regular contact with clients. Implement the firm's risk management and quality control procedures Manage a portfolio of clients including control of billings and cash collections Share knowledge within the team and facilitate research and personal development Capture client feedback and ensure it is addressed and effectively communicated to the Global Outsourcing team. Build sustainable relationships with clients, and take point responsibility for delivering answers to clients in most cases. Work with the manager and director to identify and recognise new project and business opportunities for Global Outsourcing.  Act as an ambassador of the firm participates in marketing events, keeps abreast of the wide range of services the firm offers and suggests innovative products and services. Recruit, develop and motivate our employees (includes participating in recruitment, ensuring job appraisal documentation is completed within deadlines and ensuring appropriate objectives and development plans are in place for counselees) Work as part of management team with other Global Outsourcing managers e.g. resource planning, merit rate meetings and efficiency gains. Requirements Essential ACA/ACCA or Tax qualified or extensive project management experience in financial/accounting or tax fields Strong Project Management Skills with a successful track record of managing multiple projects Proactive and commercially focussed Excellent attention to detail & organisational skills Good team working skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proven people management skills Desirable Prince2 qualified or equivalent Languages IFRS and/or US GAAP knowledge Experience with OneSource Workflow Manager (OWM) System Intermediate/working knowledge of Microsoft packages including Word, Excel and PowerPoint Training and Development Training and Development will be provided for this role as appropriate.
