Market Research Analyst - Mintel (Ref: BEL101) Location: Belfast Contract: Permanent Mintel Ireland Mintel is one of the leading global food, drink and consumer research firms. A globally recognised and respected market commentator, Mintel publishes some 1,000 reports annually into European, UK-specific and US consumer markets, with a further 35 Irish-specific reports published every year through Mintel's partner OCO Consulting, one of the leading European consultancy firms. Market Research Analyst Position This is a great opportunity to join an award-winning consumer research team, in a role focused on a number of key consumer markets including FMCG, finance, leisure and technology markets. The successful candidate will use a broad range of internal and external resources to provide insight into market dynamics and consumer behaviour, particularly in the food and drink sector. Key responsibilities: Writing up to 12 reports a year analysing FMCG markets, finance, leisure and technology markets. Developing expertise within particular market sectors across many market segments, such as domestic tourism, online retailing, alcohol, etc. Building relationships with trade contacts within the FMCG sector. Analysing primary and secondary consumer research data to provide insightful analysis within each report. Helping to prepare research surveys and working with the analyst team to interpret results. Ad-hoc research/ analysis support. Sharing insight with clients & potential clients by phone, visits and webinars. Working to tight publication deadlines. Dealing with press, trade and client enquiries. Qualifications and Experience Essential requirements Applicants must: Be a business graduate, preferably with emphasis on research and marketing. Have 1 - 2 years' practical report writing experience, ideally within the food and drink sector Have excellent numerical and analytical experience; proven ability to interpret research data to a high standard. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Previous experience of working with spreadsheets and market data. Strong attention to detail Proven ability to plan and prioritise workload under pressure to successful conclusion with in timelines Have working knowledge of MS Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. Desirable requirements: Applicants should ideally have: Experience of working in a team environment An active knowledge and interest in current events, market developments and developing marketing trends.
