Job Summary -Our client a leading global stock exchange is seeking an experienced business development manager with a strong client network, domain expertise, a structured approach and clear knowledge of the sales process to successfully build their new platform. Reporting directly into the Head of Financial Derivatives, the person will have responsibility for fine-tuning the design of the platform with clients, evaluating the approach with internal and external stakeholders and taking the platform to market.

Responsibilities

- Monitor and analyse market trends, changes in client behaviour, working hand in hand with the Global Analytics dept.
- Excellent Derivatives knowledge
- Competitor analysis of service offerings (Exchanges, MTFs, OTFs, brokers etc.
- Build a strong network of colleagues, customers and other stakeholders
- Stay appraised of any academic work which could help understand market trends, needs and opportunities as well as new product trends and any upcoming regulatory changes
- Evaluate business development opportunities on equity cash and derivatives (single stock/index options & futures) by implementing new exchange-traded products
- Strong quantitative data analysis skills, strong excel and VBA skills required
- Assist the project team with the implementation of projects (new listings and functional improvements), especially concentrating on transversal relationship with other business units.
- Assist in ensuring a smooth interface with regulators for upcoming requests for rule changes (new listings and services or existing service enhancements)
- Conduct thorough analysis of the market and economic environment around the world to identify new product launch opportunities.
- Conduct SWOT analysis of upcoming regulations affecting derivatives markets, such as EMIR, MiFID, MiFIR as well as Basel III and CRD IV.
- Suggest innovative approaches in the creation of our development strategy notably new derivative design
- Strong collaboration skills are essential to work effectively with broader Markets & Global Sales teams

Requirements

- A minimum of 10 years prior experience in derivatives markets possessing strong knowledge of equity investment products and financial markets
- Graduate degree in Business, Finance, Economics or related field
- Strong analytical ability and capacity to synthesize with the ability to resolve business challenges with a can- do and flexible approach
- Familiarity with financial data provider software (Bloomberg, Reuters) and databases (Business Objects, SAS)
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and complete multiple and diverse assignments with the highest level of quality and accuracy
- Team player, solid interpersonal skills
- Fluent English, and one other language - desirable
