Assistant Financial Accountant - Permanent role Summary of the role : As part of the financial reporting team, to work under the direct supervision of the Head of Financial, Statutory and Regulatory Reporting in all areas directly associated with this division of the Finance Department Responsibilities: Undertake the responsibility for preparing all financial and statistical reporting packages required for submission to the Central Bank of Ireland, with particular emphases on their accuracy, completeness and adherence to reporting deadlines. Act as the main correspondent to the Central Bank of Ireland on matters arising during and after the reporting periods on the designated reporting packages. Participate in weekly finance calls with Local Regulatory Reporting team in Brussels in order to progress business solutions Participate in testing and implementation of business solutions within FIRE the regulatory reporting tool. Maintain a log on matters arising during the course of the monthly financial reporting process and undertake the implementation of their solutions in a timely manner Provide support to the Accounts Payable Assistant in relation to Accounts Payables Process. Participate in the performance and on-going enhancements to the daily financial accounting control environment including the performance or co-ordination of specific designated reconciliation's, preparation or co-ordination of manual accounting batches etc. Contribute to the deployment of the Group Accounting Control Plan and to the Operational Permanent Control framework. Participate in the preparation and reporting of various additional or ad-hoc reporting requirements to the Local Authorities in Ireland, Regional Finance, Head Office, other regulatory bodies, local management. Ensure the reports are provided in a timely and efficient manner. Liaise with external Auditors in the annual audit process, and with Internal Auditors / Inspection Generale if needed. Experience Required : Must have an Accounting & Finance Degree Previous 1 - 3 years Accounting expeirence will be considered but NOT essential Must demonstrate strong understanding of accounting principles Excellent interpersonal and team playing skills
