Our client is a reputable organisation with a new found drive for automation. Due to plenty of work in the pipeline they are after a contractor who can bring Linux automation expertise to what will be a major piece of work.
Your primary duties will be:
Assist with SOE Build automation using VMWare, Satellite and Chef
Monthly patching of the Linux environments
Proactively manage incidents as they occur to return systems to an operating state as soon as possible
Help implement and configure a monitoring solution for their Linux fleet
Assist with the daily backups of the organisation's environment to tape
Migrate legacy Centos and Debian servers to Red Hat
Assess, define create standard operating procedures for our Linux environment using industry best practice
Mentor less experienced Linux engineers
You will demonstrate the following:
5-10 years' experience managing, designing and implementing enterprise scale environments using Linux (RHEL)
Experience with high availability and disaster recovery
Experience with Windows and Linux interoperability, including AD Authentication
Proven experience in a DevOps environment, continuous improvement and streamlining processes via automation
You will have experience in the following key technologies
Red Hat v6 and v7 (RHCSA or RHCSE accreditation)
Red Hat Satellite
Experience with Backup Technologies (Networker, Data Protector, Backup Exec or CommVault)
VMware 5.5 or 6.0
