Join us as a Fund Accounting Audit Control Team Leader

Brown Brothers Harriman is currently recruiting Fund Accounting Audit Control Team Leader to join our team. In this role you will manage staff in ensuring that the compiling and reconciliation of mutual fund accounting audit packages, control reviews and European Tax packages for all funds deadlines are met. You will also work closely with the Audit Control Manager in identifying and developing workflow improvements to gain efficiencies for scalability and growth. As a Team Leader you will have direct report responsibilities developing employee's knowledge and expertise and conducting employee performance appraisals. Finally, you will, along with Supervisor support, run point in managing the audits with external audit firms, financial reporting teams and internal accounting groups.

Some of your key responsibilities include:

  • Assists Control Manager in establishing a work plan for the department to effectively deliver service to internal and external parties
  • Understands reporting needs of Fund Administration and Auditors
  • Works closely with internal clients in Accounting Operations/Client Service Teams to ensure timely resolution of external client and auditor inquiries. Responds to internal and external auditor requests promptly and accurately
  • Serves as a key point of contact for external clients and auditors regarding audit servicing inquiries.
  • Develops key internal relationships to proactively aid in the resolution of issues
  • Manages a team of professionals to ensure the accurate and timely delivery of audit packaging of accounting records and reports through analysis and review of fund accounting activities
  • Analyzes validity of reconciliation proofs and differences
  • Participates in projects that relate to gaining efficiencies in the month end reconciliations and tax reporting
  • Addresses Fund Administration needs with timely and accurate delivery of reports
  • Participates in the interview and selection process for job applicants and assists new staff members in learning job specific tasks. Conducts annual performance appraisals and provides regular feedback based on goals for direct reports

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 plus years of Fund Accounting experience
  • Prior experience working in a client servicing focused work environment
  • Working knowledge of corporate actions, equity, fixed income, and derivative investments
  • Ability to prioritize and quickly resolve client and auditor needs
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize assignments and work quickly and accurately in a deadline-oriented environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both verbal and written skills
  • Comprehensive working knowledge of Excel
  • Technical proficiency in internal and/or web based systems a plus
  • Strong analytical ability
