Job Description

Grant Thornton currently has exciting opportunities within its Regulatory and Risk practice. Grant Thornton’ provides solutions to regulated entities to help them meet prudential regulatory challenges, ranging from supervisory reporting to providing technical advice on key regulations.

This role will be attractive to individuals who can rise to a challenge, who are adaptable and enjoy working in a dynamic environment. The Regulatory and Risk practice within Grant Thornton’s Financial Services Advisory (FSA) is currently seeking driven and self-motivated professionals with experience in working in companies in the asset management sector and the regulatory environment.

These roles present a great opportunity for driven individuals to work with experts in the area and develop their own knowledge and skills in the area and grow with the practice. The roles are primarily based from our headquarters on City Quay in Dublin City Centre, but working from our Regional offices will also be possible.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead the successful delivery of a wide variety of engagements, including the development of client relationships in order to enhance our reputation and brand;
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of client operations, processes and business objectives and use this knowledge on assignments;
  • Supporting technical regulatory queries;
  • Participating in clients’ regulatory reporting and disclosures to the market;
  • Actively assisting clients with regulatory submissions such as Financial Reporting, Annex IV, PRIIPS, KIIDs, and KIDS;
  • Growing your knowledge as changes in legislation and guidance are drafted and published;
  • Participating in face to face meetings with clients and regulators;
  • Ensuring quality and timely service is delivered to clients; and
  • Assisting in preparation of presentations and marketing initiatives.

The following experience is highly desired:

  • Understanding and working knowledge of the Funds and asset management industry.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a risk or regulatory role within in the asset management and funds industry or professional services;
  • Operational risk and risk advisory, control assurance or compliance monitoring role is a distinct advantage;
  • Qualification relevant to risk management, regulatory compliance, accounting, consulting, e.g. ACA, ACCA, Industry recognised qualifications (e.g. Compliance Institute, IOB courses), PMP, Six Sigma, etc.;
  • Awareness of current topics in asset management and challenges facing the asset management industry;
  • Detailed knowledge of Asset Management regulation (e.g. AML/CFT, UCITS, AIFMD, EMIR, CP 86, ESG/SFDR, MAR & Market Conduct Risk, and other relevant Irish and European obligations such as CBOI requirements etc.);
  • Understanding of Fund risks and governance, processes and organisations;
  • Knowledge of financial reporting;
  • A work ethic which provides a ‘can do’ attitude;
  • A strong team player who is also prepared to lead;
  • An ability to foster trusted relationships;
  • Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail;
  • An ability to quickly learn new skills and knowledge on the job;
  • Excellent organisational, verbal communication and time management skills.
  • Ensuring quality and timely service is delivered to clients; and
  • Assisting in preparation of presentations and marketing initiatives.
