Why this job matters

You will be accountable for providing end to end Business Assurance over the Business P&L of ~£8bn across the Concept-to-Cash Revenue and Cost chain.
This role has direct impact on both P&L and customer experience; (i) It protects the Business CFU from incorrectly billing it's customers by identifying risks in E2E processes and systems that ultimately protects the customer and BT's brand and mitigates risk of fines from Ofcom (ii) It protects the Business CFU from incurring incorrect costs from Suppliers (iii) It's critical to providing valuable insight and recommendations back to the Business CFU so that they can drive improvements across people, processes, and systems.

What you'll be doing
  • Accountable for defining and executing the strategy and plans for assuring Business in line with overall GBA strategy.
  • Accountable for the identification of opportunities for improvement (people, process, systems) at a strategic level and drives change within own team and influences at a Senior level in CFU (CXO and MD). This is driven by root cause analysis from controls/issues
  • Accountable to deliver annual forecasted financial impact of £m of cost reduction or revenue improvement for the Business CFU through assurance and optimisation
  • Accountable for engaging with broad range of GBA, CU and CFU stakeholders to create and drive complex risk mitigation programmes, with a clear understanding of customer, commercial, financial, legal and regulatory constraints.
  • Accountable for the planning, co-ordination , delivery and sustainability of End-to-End Concept to Cash controls
  • Accountable for risk assessments on C2M and proposals for risk mitigation
  • Accountable for root cause management on issues identified through Assurance controls
  • Accountable for managing (to resolution) all Billing Incidents raised that maybe OFCOM Metering and Billing impacting
  • Manages a team of 15 -25 professionals at D and E level.
  • Responsible for team's budget for TLR including third-party resource. Engages CFU to gain support for business cases for increased resource investment as and when required
The skills & experience you'll need
  • A highly successful Business/Revenue Assurance expert from the Telecommunications or relevant industry
  • Expert in risk management and mitigation techniques
  • Excellent knowledge of Business Assurance tools and techniques to drive value into BT
  • Outstanding communication, presentation, influencing, story-telling and stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent knowledge of both lead-to-cash processes and trouble-to-resolve processes, systems and products across all channels and regions.
  • Articulates at high-level the commercial impact of complex assurance activities to senior stakeholders
  • Programme/Project Management of multiple deliverables, with good prioritisation and time management skills.
At a senior management level;
  • Telecommunications experience in Business/Revenue Assurance (Industry or Consulting) roles backed by commercial finance, business improvement, transformation and risk management
  • Experience in using/implementing/influencing tools that are best in class for Revenue/Business Assurance tools
  • Experience in working with stakeholders at a CXO level
  • Proven track record of leading and delivering muti £m benefits through optimisation and assurance
