Our client is seeking a Part Qualified Management Accountant to join their growing Finance team and to be a team leader for a small team. The role is based near Didcot offering hybrid working.

The Management Accountant will have a wide range of duties including:

  • Provide financial support and modelling to support the development of business plans and strategy.
  • Preparation of monthly cashflow reports and supporting documents.
  • To support your team with any transactional accounting support where / when required.
  • Develop, produce, and enhance high quality monthly management information packs. Analyse monthly financial results, regarding variance and trend analysis.
  • Produce commentary and presentations, for the Senior Management Team.
  • Develop and produce high quality group consolidated management reporting as well as quarter end reporting.
  • Provide stakeholders with investment reports and other adhoc reporting as required.
  • Manage and mentor a small team to support the production of management accounts
  • Be responsible for the completion and quarterly review of a full P&L, budgeting and forecasting for your section of the organisation
  • Help drive continuous improvement in operating practices and accounting processes across the team
  • Improve the data structure and quality of source information used in financial reporting.
  • Be responsible for the management of audit queries, delegating the responsibilities where applicable.
  • Attend meetings, via teams or in person, with senior stakeholders in other departments
  • Provide training for accounts staff as well as providing support and training, where applicable, to new members of staff within other departments.
  • Regular one to one meetings with team members.
  • Annual performance reviews with team members.


The successful Management Accountant will have a strong background in Management accounting within a large finance team, ideally with previous experience managing a team.

The individual will ideally be:

  • Studying towards the ACCA/CIMA qualification
  • Strong background in previous finance/accounting department.
  • Ability to produce high quality and accurate work within demanding timeframes.
  • Excellent organisational skills, especially in relation to the analysis of a large volume of data.
  • Proven financial modelling skills: particularly overhead reporting, P&L models, scenario analysis tools - this individual will need to develop models from scratch.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate clearly with people at all levels.
  • Strong team player, evidencing an ability to establish positive working relationships.
  • Proactive approach, quick to learn and able to manage own workload.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Able to produce clear analysis of financial information for dissemination by non-finance people.

Job Offer

The salary on offer is between £40,000 and £45,000 dependent upon level of experience and qualification, plus a range of benefits, including a study package for ACCA/CIMA. Hybrid working is also on offer with 3 days in the office and 2 remotely.
