Global Finance & Business Management works to strategically manage capital, drive growth and efficiencies, maintain financial reporting and proactively manage risk. By providing information, analysis and recommendations to improve results and drive decisions, teams ensure the company can navigate all types of market conditions while protecting our fortress balance sheet.

As a External Reporting Controller in the Firmwide Regulatory Reporting & Analysis Senior Associate, you will focus on Data Integrity, completeness, accuracy and report preparation for the various regulators and provide production oversight to measure progress and continuously improve our end product. External Reporting is at the core of Regulatory reporting function and facilitates interaction with schedule owners, report owners, Line of Business (LOBs such as Investment Bank, Commercial Bank, Consumer and Community Banking & Asset Management) and technology partners. As one enhances his/her expertise with data it opens up further opportunities to get into project management, business management and data analytics roles. Outside of the team there is a direct link to product control functions in each Line of Business (LOB), product owners (SME) or report owner roles in Corporate Finance.

Job Responsibilities

  • Leads a team and production of AnaCredit / EMEA regulatory reports for JPMorgan Chase & Co.
  • Continuing to enhance the controls and efficiency of financial reporting processes which may include the identification and resolution of issues/errors, operating model, tracking and. resolution of data quality issues and implementing process improvements to reduce cycle time.
  • Coordinates multiple aspects of the production and review of monthly and quarterly reports filed with various regulatory agencies.
  • Effectively manages multiple priorities and deliverables under tight timeline. Establish and manage relationships, partnerships and dialogue with a variety of stakeholders in a highly matrix organization.
  • Identifies gaps in current reporting processes and lead the implementation of new controls and strategic solutions to ensure the integrity of reported financial results.
  • Leads strategic initiatives and ongoing improvements in reporting processes.
  • Maintains familiarity with accounting pronouncements and disclosure requirements. Participate in firm wide project groups to implement changes in reporting requirements.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • 5+ years total relevant work experience (banking or accounting industry preferred).
  • Prior experience with team management required.
  • Demonstrable understanding of financial statements and disclosures required.
  • Bachelors Degree required; Accounting or Finance degree preferred.
  • Excellent communication abilities, both written and oral. Must be fluent in English.
  • Comfortable working with large quantities of data, including strong reconciliation and process management experience.
  • Excellent technical skills in Excel. Database experience also helpful.

  • Excellent analytical skills in interpretation of data and identification of anomalies.
  • Independent worker who is self-motivated; Comfortable working independently in a dynamic and challenging environment.
  • Detail oriented, strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Results-oriented / delivery focused; ability to deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines.
