We're currently looking for a Finance Assistant for six months fixed term contract. This position sits within the Financial Operations team. We are flexible on the location of this role.

The purpose of this role is to post and reconcile bank account transactions, reconcile credit card payments from customers and to make payments to suppliers.

The Job

Reporting to the Head of Financial Operations, on a day-to-day basis, you'll be involved in the following;

  • Posting bank statement transactions to the general ledger or allocating them for processing to the sub ledgers
  • Processing or performing checks for non-UK supplier payments
  • Processing or performing checks on daily direct payments for tax, global payroll and currency purchases
  • Reconciling credit card transactions daily
  • Reconciling bank accounts daily, weekly or monthly
  • Reconciling general ledger control accounts monthly
  • Responding to mailbox queries that come into the team
  • Ensuring key financial processes are carried out according to ACCA's financial policies and procedures
  • Adhering to the timetable set by the Group Financial Controller to perform financial close processes within set deadlines
  • Supporting the Head of Financial Operations to deliver the team's objectives including any ad hoc activities

The Person

We're looking for someone with:

  • Previous experience of performing general ledger postings
  • Previous experience of general ledger, bank account or credit card reconciliations
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Strong numeracy and analytical skills
  • Strong Excel knowledge
  • Good communication skills
  • An ability to handle multiple tasks under tight timelines and work under pressure
  • Demonstrate a keenness for continual improvement
