Job Description

As the Third Party Brands finance analyst you will sit within our Label & New Business finance Team. The role will be a good mix of financial analysis, management accounts & Business Partnering. You will beimmersed in the profit of all our branded sales. From Adidas to Animal, Superdry to Scion, understanding the brand level profit and opportunities to improve it will be key in driving the division forward.

Accountabilities

  • Manage the brand level profitability analysis, with regular updates throughout the year, identifying any areas which require improvement
  • Work with Finance business teams to ensure the costs are allocated to the division correctly
  • Appraise the profitability of potential new brands and ensure new launches are in line with expectations
  • Prepare analysis of sales and profit for annual reporting to external audiences
  • Assess profitability of licenced product to ensure stock levels, margins and costs are managed to deliver appropriate profitability

Main Tasks

  • Working closely with other Finance teams you will be required to assess and understand all of the costs associated with Third Party brands and assess their profitabilities
  • Prepare daily and weekly sales reports and performance review of Sale period performance
  • Work with the Third Party Brands Finance Manager and finance teams to ensure coordinated approach to budgeting, forecasting and actual costs
  • Review of the Brand detail P&L’s to ensure accurate allocation of costs
  • Prepare schedules of the detailed P&L to be reviewed with Next senior leadership team to action opportunities to increase profitability
  • Work with non-finance stakeholders to review new wholesale opportunities of licenced branded products, ensuring all associated costs are captured in the appraisal
  • Managing our licensing cost centres ensuring costs are challenged and controlled

Key Requirements

  • At least 3 years experience in a Finance or Analytical role
  • CIMA/ACCA qualified or Part qualified
  • Experience in Financial modelling preferential
  • Strong Excel Skills (PowerPivot, Power Query Preferential)
  • Good Data handling Skills - comfortable with large Data sets (SQL/Power BI Preferential)
  • Able to prepare schedules for review with senior leadership team both within Finance and the wider business
  • Self starter and able to manage own workload
  • Work accurately with high attention to detail
  • To have a flexible approach to the role and be willing to carry out a wide variety of tasks
