In this role, you will:
- Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of the key priorities, risks and challenges facing the Wealth & Insurance business.
- Work effectively and proactively with colleagues in Group Internal Audit to evaluate internal controls and processes in order to provide objective and challenging risk based assurance.
- Develop and foster effective relationships with management and other relevant stakeholders.
- Participate in the planning, execution and reporting of audits/reviews ensuring effective sharing of lessons learned and standard process.
What will make you stand out?
We are looking for someone with prior risk management or audit experience who has a good understanding of the life assurance company's business, priorities and challenges, in addition to the regulatory environment in which it operates.
You will need to be comfortable interacting at all levels, both internally and externally whilst operating in a dynamic, team-based, agile environment.
Influencing skills and an ability to challenge management in an open and constructive manner while maintaining effective relationships is a must alongside a track record that demonstrates integrity, resilience, sound judgement and independence!
Strong verbal and written communication and excellent analytical skills with the ability to concisely articulate the required actions will ensure success.
Finally you will work on your own initiative and together with our team to deliver high quality work within tight timeframes.
Essential Qualifications
Professional or 3rd level qualification in a relevant subject area.
More about the team
This role is on the audit team for the New Ireland, Wealth & Insurance (W&I) portfolio encompassing all parts of New Ireland Assurance Company and the W&I arm of Bank of Ireland Group. The primary role of the team is to conduct audits within those areas, and track the remediation of any issues identified. Based on our work, we provide updates to executive management on risks / issues identified, and report to relevant Board committees (New Ireland Board Audit Committee, General Investment Trust Board, Dawson Master Trust Board).
This is a hybrid role and can be done anywhere in the Republic of Ireland with the primary office location of Baggot Plaza, Dublin. Travel will be required for in-person collaboration - exact frequency to be agreed with manager.
