This is a predominantly a non-client facing role with some involvement in client pitches, re-tenders, and tech demos. The Innovation team is based primarily in London & Manchester, but we are geographically dispersed and adept at working and collaborating in an agile way. The Innovation team is responsible for creating and implementing new audit technologies, ensuring that auditors are making the most of the technologies available to them today, that they are prepared to use technology of the future, and that we are telling our Digital Story well to existing and prospective clients. The responsibilities of the team and the scope of our activities are constantly expanding. Becoming a member of the Innovation team offers the opportunity to take ownership of tasks and processes and encourages progression, within all roles. It is an opportunity to learn new skills, while working in a fast-paced and exciting environment. The role also offers the opportunity to expand networks, as we work with the wider Innovation & Data team as well as the change networks across the Audit business units.
We're looking for the following person to join our Innovation team:
  • A high performing Manager with specific experience in audit and using audit technology (e.g. Aura, Connect, Digital Lab, Alteryx, PowerBI, DataSnipper, and other data-led solutions)
  • Someone with a real passion for technology and an interest in helping to deliver the firmwide strategy to implement digital change through behavioural change and the use of emerging technologies
  • An experienced manager who has managed junior colleagues and has an interest in developing others
  • Someone with strong time management skills, including flexibility to work with shifting priorities and client needs
  • Good communication and client management skills
  • Experience presenting or speaking to an audience
You will work as part of the Innovation team, which itself is part of the wider Innovation & Data team that sits within Digital Audit. You will report to the team Senior Manager and ultimately to the Innovation & Data Lead Partners.

Your role:

You'll be responsible for different digital projects and initiatives, as well as the management of junior team members. Responsibilities will include:
  • Helping to drive the execution of the firm's markets strategy by leading 'The Digital Story' workstream. This includes;
    • overseeing the development materials such as slides, scripts, and demo sites
    • providing coaching to audit teams on how talk about our audit technology to clients
    • supporting client pitches, re-tenders, and tech demos
    • attending meetings and developing strategies with the markets partners
  • Helping audit teams realise the benefits of technology through;
    • promoting digital audit behaviours;
    • engaging with the change networks;
    • facilitating technology workshops and other events;
    • sharing best practice across the network;
    • innovating to find new ways to deliver our digital audit strategy.
  • Day to day coaching of junior staff members to help them progress
  • Owning and delivering digital transformation initiatives
  • Leading a multi-location team, using your relationship management skills to ensure the delivery of high quality work to appropriate deadlines
  • Building meaningful relationships with the digital change network (Change Leaders, Digital Drivers, Digital Accelerators)
  • Demonstrate curiosity that will allow you to have insightful conversations and provide visible challenge to key stakeholders
  • Managing a variety of views and priorities
  • Encouraging an inclusive team environment that promotes innovative thinking, collaboration and constructive challenge - helping people realise their potential and support their long-term aspirations.
  • Work with L&D to ensure Audit training is up to date and aligned with the Digital Audit behaviours
  • Work with the wider stakeholder network to support the 'Making Quality Easier - Digitising the Audit' agenda
The key capabilities/experience you'll need for this role are:
  • Practical experience of carrying out an audit and using available technologies
  • Effective communication and presentation skills
  • Intellectual curiosity and agility
  • A problem-solving and innovative mind-set, while being able to maintain a focus on commercial outcomes
  • Interest in, and ability to, embrace new technologies and apply them to improving our processes
  • A good understanding of PwC's audit methodology
  • An ability to work independently with limited supervision once initial familiarisation and training is completed
  • Experience in managing junior colleagues and an interest in developing others
  • Strong time management skills, including flexibility to work with shifting priorities and client needs
  • Project management and analytical skills
