Risk is all around us and in our complex world, is changing all the time. Our teams bring people from diverse backgrounds together, using their skills and cutting-edge technology, to help solve complex problems. We are pioneers in a world of changing risk and our market leading services build resilient organisations. Join us and together, we can support our clients to rethink risk.
Enterprises - Sustainability
PwC Sustainability is the hub for Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) services across PwC and sits at the heart of the UK ESG Platform as a critical enabler for the rest of the firm.
This is the decade for action. At PwC, our ambition is to build trust in the climate transition and help our clients create sustainable value to meet ESG goals. We help organisations transform sustainably; build the credibility of their reporting, particularly around non-financial metrics and climate reporting; develop and implement their investment strategies for the future; and support their people through a fair transition. While we also continue to make sure that our own business is ready to meet the challenge.
Working in ESG in PwC you'll maximise the opportunities to change and create value for our clients and our communities, with the care and imagination it takes to lead for the future. Together we can build good business for a stronger world.
Our goal is to help clients manage their ESG risks while also turning them into opportunity through a focus on three key pillars: Sustainability Strategy, Net Zero Transformation, and Sustainability Reporting, across three key industries: Financial Services, Government and Health, and Private Business.
Programme
Our summer internships offer students invaluable insight into PwC's business and culture. You'll have the opportunity to experience work and life at PwC, and collaborate with experienced professionals on real client projects. The opportunities to learn and grow are unrivalled - so be prepared to get stuck in.
What you'll do
We are scaling our support for clients in tackling their ESG issues, by building deep technical experts and scaling and combining this with our broader capabilities within Risk ESG. You will help clients deliver real impact and create tangible value for the organisation. You'll do this by supporting them to make the most of the opportunities for innovation and growth created by a world economy that's becoming greener and more inclusive.
What you'll gain
You will also discover what a career with us is all about, and deepen your skills. You'll find out first-hand if this is the career for you - do well, and you could be offered a graduate job to start the same year. Working alongside specialists, you'll work on client projects to give you the best insight into what we're about. You'll have the opportunity to build networks with your colleagues, peers and wider industry experts.
You'll be working in subject matter that is critically important both to PwC and society.
What you'll need
You'll need to be in your penultimate year of an undergraduate or postgraduate degree; or
You'll need to be in your final year of an undergraduate degree with a one year postgraduate place confirmed; and
You'll need to be on course to pass an undergraduate degree or above in any subject. We determine whether you're on course to pass based on the grades you achieved in your last completed year of academic study.
Successful candidates will be able to showcase some of the relevant skills:
- strong understanding of sustainability principles
- ability to explain complex concepts in a non-technical manner
- flexible and capable of operating and learning in a dynamic environment
- ability to apply principles in a practical and commercial setting
- capable of applying qualitative and quantitative techniques including data analytics, data modelling and digital technologies (experience or interest using Tableau, Alteryx and Python would be highly desirable).
For this opportunity we welcome applications from those studying any degree subject and value the diversity of thought this brings to the business unit. This said, we are seeking individuals that have a strong motivation for pursuing a longer-term career in the Sustainability field. This may be demonstrated through currently studying a relevant degree (for example a Sustainability or Social related subject, e.g. - Environmental Science/Sustainable Engineering/Psychology/Geography) or other demonstrable experiences or interests outside of your academic study.
When to apply
Once you have submitted your application you'll have seven days to complete the online test, this is the first stage of our recruitment process.
Assessment centres for this role will take place between 18 December 2023 - 26 January 2024 or 19 February - 4 March 2024. We expect to be able to give you at least a week's notice to attend.
Applications for this role may close early should we receive a high volume of interest so we recommend prompt application to avoid disappointment.
