Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- Preparation of reconciliations for a number of critical accounts such as goods in transit, duty, freight, return to vendor and reprocessing
- Develop a strong relationship with the stock accounting and tech teams, actively addressing issues as they arise
- Work closely with the stock accounting and project teams to ensure suitable reconciliations are in place for strategic projects such as Click & Collect and Stock Valuation Transition to Weighted Average Cost (WAC)
- Develop efficient stock count reconciliation processes for store and depot counts
- Review and challenge of reconciliation processes to identify opportunities to improve the controls environment and drive efficiencies through automation or revised processes. Stock reconciliations are a key business area for improvement/automation and are an area of focus for Senior Finance Stakeholders
- Significant cross-functional working across Finance (Stock Accounting, Finance Transformation, Finance Projects), technology and other areas of the business
- Any other tasks and ad hoc projects as required by management
- Accounting qualification (ACA or ACCA essential)
- 3 years post qualification experience preferred
- Reconciliations experience essential with stock reconciliations experience preferred
- Retail industry experience preferred
- A strong understanding of key controls, accounting issues, systems and policies applicable to a large international organisation
- Good general IFRS knowledge
- Strong computer literacy
- High energy and enthusiasm
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Team player able to work with multiple teams throughout finance and the business
- Strong relationship builder
- Able to work in a flexible manner to meet changing priorities
- English is essential, other European language(s) would be an advantage
