Description
The roles and responsibilities of a Corporate Tax Manager will include:
- Tax Compliance: You'll be responsible for ensuring that the company complies with all relevant tax laws and regulations. This includes preparing and filing tax returns, making estimated tax payments, and maintaining accurate records.
- Tax Planning: You should be able to identify tax planning opportunities that can help the company minimize its tax liability. This involves analyzing financial data, staying up-to-date on changes to tax laws and regulations, and developing tax strategies that align with the company's overall business goals.
- Risk Management: You'll also be responsible for managing tax risks and ensuring that the company is not exposed to unnecessary tax liabilities. This includes identifying and assessing potential tax risks, developing and implementing controls to mitigate those risks, and maintaining effective communication with internal stakeholders.
- Team Management: You'll be responsible for managing a team of tax professionals, including providing guidance, training, and support to ensure that the team is performing at a high level.
- External Relationships: You should maintain effective relationships with external stakeholders, such as auditors, tax authorities, and other tax professionals. This includes communicating with these stakeholders to resolve tax-related issues and staying up-to-date on changes to tax laws and regulations.
Profile
The successful Corporate Tax Manager will have:
- Able to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues
- Tax advisory experience is desirable, but not essential
- Excellent time management skills in order to meet a variety of strict deadlines
- Experience in line managing/supervising a team
- Qualified by experience or ACA or CTA qualified
- Some experience with other taxes is desirable, but not essential
- Ideally, Manchester based, not essential
