I am working with a business based in the Derby area that are looking to recruit an assistant management accountant with a salary offering up to £35,000. With the business expanding their finance team due to demand, this is an excellent opportunity.
This is an office based role with the opportunity for study support and progression.
Description
As an Assistant Management Accountant, you will play a crucial role in providing financial insight and support to our management team. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting in the preparation of monthly financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Conducting variance analysis to identify trends and opportunities for cost-saving and process improvement.
- Assisting in budgeting and forecasting processes, collaborating with various departments to ensure accuracy and alignment.
- Reconciling accounts and maintaining accurate financial records.
- Participating in month-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Assisting with the preparation of annual financial statements and liaising with auditors.
- Supporting the management team in making informed decisions based on financial data.
- Contributing to process enhancement initiatives to streamline financial workflows.
Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Part-qualified or actively pursuing a professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA).
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in work.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently.
- Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous but not essential.
