Job Description - APAC Accounting Lead,
Work Dynamics
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as the APAC Accounting Lead. As the Accounting Lead for the Asia-Pacific region, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all accounting and financial operations within the region. You will work closely with the Global finance team and other regional leads to ensure compliance, accuracy and efficiency in financial reporting and analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Receivable (AR) Management
Oversee the AR function, including customer invoicing, collections, and credit management. Monitor outstanding receivables and implement strategies to reduce DSO and minimize bad debt risk. Collaborate with the Client to resolve billing and payment issues promptly.
Accounts Payable (AP) Management
Supervise the AP function, ensuring accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices and payments. Implement effective controls to manage vendor payments and optimize cash flow. Review and approve payment run to ensure compliance with company policies and local regulations.
Month-end and Year-end Closing
Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes for APAC, ensuring timely and accurate Accruals & management reporting requirements.
Tax Compliance
Collaborate with tax experts and external advisors to ensure compliance with local tax regulations, including corporate income tax, VAT/GST, and other applicable taxes.
Statutory Compliance
Ensure adherence to local accounting and statutory requirements in each country within the APAC region.
Coordination with Global Finance Team
Collaborate with the global finance team to align on reporting standards, share best practices, and implement global finance initiatives within the APAC region.
Audit Support
Liaise with internal and external auditors during the annual audit process to provide necessary documentation and explanations for financial transactions.
Intercompany Transactions
Ensure accurate recording and reconciliation of intercompany transactions between APAC entities and other global offices.
Management Reports and analysis
Prepare and review management reports and other relevant financial analysis for the APAC region. Support the Regional Finance Leads in budgeting and forecasting processes by providing financial insights
Process Improvement
Continuously assess and improve accounting processes and internal controls to enhance efficiency and accuracy, while maintaining compliance with relevant regulations.
Team Management
Supervise and provide guidance to the APAC accounting team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.

Qualifications and Skills
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A professional accounting qualification (e.g., CA, CPA, ACCA) is highly desirable.
•Proven experience (10+ years) in accounting and finance, with a track record of progressively increasing responsibility, including managerial experience.
•Strong knowledge of accounting principles, local & US GAAP, and IFRS standards.
•Experience in a multinational company or accounting firm with exposure to multiple countries within the APAC region is advantageous.
•Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
•Ability to communicate effectively with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
•Proficient in financial software and ERP systems.
•Fluent in English, with additional language skills in the APAC region considered a plus.
•Demonstrated leadership skills with a proactive and collaborative approach to team management.
