Overview of the role

This position is with the Global Supplier Billing (GSB). GSB, gathers, manages, analyzes, and distributes data on American Express Global Business Travel marketing and incentive revenue for preferred Air, Hotel, Car/Limo, and Rail suppliers. As a Global Supplier Billing Supervisor, you will be responsible for the timely and accurate preparation and analysis of accruals, payments and payment activity often with limited information and requiring research and collaboration. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of reporting activities including weekly, monthly, and quarterly financial reporting, interim and annual audit preparation, accounting research and ad-hoc tasks as requested by management. The Global Supplier Billing Supervisor will play a key role as liaison between American Express Global Supplier Partnerships, Controllership, Finance, and external preferred suppliers.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Supervision of assigned team members including goal setting, team building and performance management (EMEA, APAC, LAC, Media).
  • Training and professional development of subordinate analysts
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key business and finance partners
  • Work with international team members on collection efforts
  • Ensure accurate and timely invoice issuance and application of cash payments
  • Control point monitoring
  • Assist in development and maintenance of process performance metrics
  • Contract interpretation and analysis including the ability to translate complex contractual terms to advanced excel modeling to validate third party calculations.
  • Journal entry processing/account reconciliations
  • Assist management in the preparation of interim and annual audit requirements
  • Provide scheduled deliverables in a timely manner and Ad-hoc reporting as requested
  • Conduct and document monthly dunning calls
  • Overtime and weekend hours may be required to meet deadlines
Qualifications and Skills
  • 5-7 years related experience
  • Supervisory experience helpful
  • Excellent MS Excel Skills
  • NetSuite Experience Preferred
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience tailoring, and summarizing information based on audience: Financial & Non-financial audience, Staff to Senior Management
  • Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance
