We are recruiting for an experienced Accountant to join our Risk, Controls & Oversight team in Finance Operations. As part of a busy and collaborative team, you will provide oversight across all Regulated Life Company entities, supporting the delivery of accurate and timely risk & controls MI to senior stakeholders. This role would suit someone who has a keen interest in challenging the way we operate and who enjoys working with colleagues across a wide range of teams.

We are recruiting for an experienced Accountant to join our Risk, Controls & Oversight team in Finance Operations.

The Role
As part of a busy and collaborative team, you'll provide oversight across all Regulated Life Company entities, supporting the delivery of accurate and timely risk & controls MI to senior stakeholders. This role would suit someone who has a keen interest in challenging the way we operate and who enjoys working with colleagues across a wide range of teams. You'll build relationships with external auditors and teams across Line 1, 2 and 3, enabling efficient delivery of risk reviews and audits.

You'll plan and complete high quality assurance reviews around key processes ensuring accuracy and validity of the Company's financial information, using your own experience to identify continuous improvement opportunities.

We'll require you to have excellent collaboration skills as you'll work with the wider teams in Finance Operations to ensure robust and accurate balance sheet control reporting is provide to management alongside articulation of ledger risks and mitigations.
As part of this role you'll also need to ensure control issues or risk incidents are reported and escalated in line with existing governance and that any remediation actions/control improvements are tracked to plan and actioned (where appropriate) across Finance Operations,
Ensure management is clear on the current risks within Finance Operations through submission of quarterly KRIs and delivering on the completion of risk & controls performance scorecards
The role holder will also undertake analysis of Suspense MI from internal and outsourced service providers. You'll also maintain knowledge of the Group Risk Financial Controls & Reporting policy principles and other local controls standards, providing policy guidance to local teams.
This is a fast moving role dealing with regulatory change, you'll need to balance competing priorities and maintain professional skills

What We're Looking For




Essential
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Life & Pensions experience
- Be skilled in stakeholder management, including influencing senior business leaders
- Be a confident communicator
- Be a proactive and collaborative team player who can work on own initiative with limited supervision
