Your Role and Responsibilities
This position resides in Toronto, Ontario OR Montreal, Quebec and is a 8-12 month work term commencing January 2024. It is mandatory that all applicants are enrolled in full-time studies at a post-secondary institution and returning to full-time studies upon completion of the work term.

Expertus, an IBM company is a Montreal-based fintech company specializing in end-to-end digital payments, to help clients address the aging payments infrastructures used by banks, credit unions, regulatory agencies and large corporations. The acquisition strengthens IBM's portfolio as an end-to-end payments platform solution provider, further advancing IBM's hybrid cloud and AI strategy.

The intern selected for this position will assist our team in conducting market research and analyzing trends within the payments sector. They will be responsible for documenting and presenting the findings of their research to the team. Additionally, the intern will collaborate on the preparation of presentations aimed at showcasing our team's diverse initiatives.

Throughout this internship, the selected candidate will have the opportunity to acquire valuable knowledge about the payments industry and gain insights into market trends. They will also have the opportunity of interacting with and learning from a dynamic and highly skilled team of professionals. Required Technical and Professional Expertise
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Enthusiasm for the payments industry
  • Willingness to learn.
  • A clear credit check is a requirement for this role
  • Must be eligible to work 8 - 12 months starting in January 2024


Preferred Technical and Professional Experience
  • Previous experience or exposure to electronic payments processing, banking, or treasury operations is desired.
  • Knowledge of standards like ISO20022
  • Familiarity with industry practices and processes, compliance, and regulatory bodies like OFAC, will be advantageous.
  • Registered in a formal coop/internship program

This role will involve working with technology that is covered by Export Regulations sanctions.
