Why Rolls-Royce?

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Manager - Group Reporting to join our team. You will be helping to ensure the quality and timely delivery of financial results within Group Financial Control with a focus on month end reporting as well as statutory reporting at half-year and year-end. You will also play a pivotal role in the forecasting and budgeting process for our group consolidation adjustments.

Based in Derby, this role will report to the Group Management Reporting - Lead RR Power Systems.

The Group Financial Control team is responsible for issuing the reporting calendar and coordinating/providing instructions for the quarterly Statutory Reporting requirements. Together with the businesses, we ensure all external and internal reporting requirements and deadlines are met to a high standard.

This role will allow you to gain excellent insight into external reporting requirements and an opportunity to gain direct exposure to senior guidance.

Work with us and we'll welcome you into an inclusive culture, one that invests in your continuous learning and development, and gives you access to a wide breadth and depth of experience.

We offer excellent development, a competitive salary and remarkable benefits. These include bonus, employee support assistance and employee discounts.

Your needs are as unique as you are. Hybrid working is a way in which our people can balance their time between the office, home or another remote location. It's a locally mentored and flexed informal discretionary arrangement. As a minimum we're all expected to attend the workplace for collaboration and other specific reasons, on average three days per week.

What you will be doing:
  • Completing group consolidation adjustments monthly, monitoring and reviewing business submissions in Oracle Hyperion Financial Management (HFM).
  • Being the business point of contact within the team for Defence. Review and investigate business inputs, and supporting balance sheet reviews.
  • Responsible for completing specific notes to the accounts and supporting the quarterly reporting process. Working with the wider Group Financial Control team and businesses to ensure all external reporting requirements are met. Interacting with PwC during audit periods.
  • Responsible for the forecasting of group consolidation adjustments.
  • Identify, suggest, and implement process improvements, including but not limited to system changes (HFM), process changes, improved documentation, and organise.
  • To support businesses in the development of their reporting and understanding, including sharing best practice across the businesses.
Who we are looking for:

At Rolls-Royce we embrace agility, are bold, pursue collaboration and seek simplicity in everything we do. These values form our values and behaviours and are an essential component of our assessment process and are fundamental qualities that we seek for all roles.
  • A self-motivated person with good evaluative skills, attention to detail and delivering quality results to problematic timetables.
  • You will be positive interacting with both internal and external stakeholders. This role will interact with several key Finance stakeholders both within the Group Financial Control team, central functions and across the businesses.
  • You will be educated to degree level or equivalent and hold a recognised accounting qualification.
  • Knowledge of Oracle HFM would be beneficial.
We are an equal opportunities employer. We're committed to developing a diverse team and an inclusive working environment. We believe that people from different backgrounds and cultures give us different perspectives. And the more perspectives we have, the more successful we'll be. By building a culture of respect and appreciation, we give everyone who works here the opportunity to realise their full potential.

We welcome applications from people with a refugee background.
