Exciting Assistant Accountant role for someone with month end exposure looking to add to their accounting and commercial finance expertise. Based in great offices in Bedford they are part of a global group and a growing rapidly

This UK division of the global leading group are market leaders in their chosen FMCG field and have tripled in size over the last 12 months with ambitious growth plans ahead. Their Bedford office is offering an ambitious Assistant Accountant the chance to develop their accounting knowledge by assisting a new Finance Manager to create a more commercially focused finance team.

Description

Assistant Accountant duties and responsibilities;

• Accruals, prepayments and journal postings
• assist the finance manager in month end reporting and accounts production
• VAT Returns
• fixed asset register maintenance
• Assist in prepping the outsourced payroll
• working alongside a finance analyst assisting in budget and forecast preparation
• reconciliations
• covering for the purchase ledger clerk and credit controller when required

Profile

Experience and characteristics required

• AAT qualified or studier looking to progress within finance long term, ACCA/CIMA early stage studier also considered
• Month end exposure to accruals and prepayments with reporting experience desirable
• Comfortable covering for purchase and sales ledger clerks and eager to learn form the Finance manager in regards to full month end accounting and financial analysis
• personable, sociable and upbeat character
