Accounts Manager (approx. 75% accounts prep/ management 25% tax)

Balmforth Associates is a 5 employee, fast growing one partner firm based in the City (Farringdon) dealing primarily with the creative sectors specifically performers, tv personalities, dancers, presenters and agencies. We also act for a range of design and architectural business so experience in these areas would be desirable.

We are a young team looking to bring a new outlook to the traditional accountancy practice image. This role is an invaluable opportunity for the right candidate to take on more responsibility than would be offered in larger firms and gain partner level exposure to all aspect of the business.  You will be responsible for a portfolio of clients and be their primary port of contact.

Internally you will mentor and motivate junior members of team and help them to progress their own experience.

The role will encompass the following duties on a day to day basis:

• Accounts preparation through to completion- i.e. preparing working papers, making any adjustments and submitting for review, including incomplete record jobs.
• Self-assessment returns for directors where we prepare accounts 
• Reviewing and assisting junior team members with VAT return preparation and submission
• Training juniors on accounts prep procedures. 
• Liaising with HMRC as necessary in relation to your client portfolio
• Ensuring that all statutory accounts, CT600 returns and partnership returns for your client portfolio are filed within the deadlines
• Reviewing payroll processing for your client portfolio

The successful candidate will possess the following attributes:

Experience with Iris Accounts Production suite is also highly desirable.

20 days holiday + bank holidays. Increasing by 1 day per year after first 2 years to a max of 25
