Due to internal promotion, we are currently looking for an experienced Management Accountant to join our high performing Strategic Finance team based in Birmingham. Although the role is based at our Solihull Head Office, we are currently employing a flexible, hybrid working model (2 days per week in the office).

Role Responsibility
The Management Accountant will manage the accounting, reporting and forecasting of the UK and Ireland Investment programme and business partner with internal stakeholders to understand and investigate overall performance against budget.

  • Business partnering with regional finance and operational teams providing support on the completion of capital investment applications and ensuring adherence with policies and procedures. Business partnering with operational finance teams to support on all capital investment matters, whilst ensuring policies and procedures have been adhered to.
  • Prepare, reconcile, and manage capital control document (CCD) for Tarmac to enable the users of management information to see status on approval, spend and forecast on all Tarmac active projects, including leases. Manage Tarmacs capital control document to ensure they have been prepared in line with procedure. Ensure management information is correct in regards to current project status, spend and forecast (Includes leases).
  • Ensure post project reviews are completed ensuring a return on investment in line with the original investment. Co-ordinate reviews with operational / regional finance team and ensure all aspects have been completed in line with the process. Support Capital Finance Manager on post project review process. This ensures that capital investments are delivering anticipated results and documentation is prepared to support CRH group reviews.
  • Report year to date, full year, and future years spend for each project within Tarmac as per CCD into EXQL and reconcile YTD spend position to reported Fixed asset additions by FP&A.
  • Reconcile monthly lease additions with approved applications and report lease additions actuals, full year, and future years in EXQL for each project within Tarmac.
  • Work closely with the Fixed assets team and operational teams to cleanse data and improve the transactional process of creating & closing projects in SAP.
  • Review data quality of WBS setup forms as part of the project approval process to ensure smooth project creation in the finance system and its imminent usage by business to allow achievement of their forecasts.
  • Review and analyse CX GRIR balance over 8 months with the regional teams to ensure data is being cleansed throughout the year and any audit queries are promptly answered surrounding aged balances.
  • Prepare Capital commitments report for bi-annual SOx review done by FP&A.
  • Consolidate the Tarmac budget requirements for reviews and upload the agreed projects into EXQL per agreed deadlines.
  • Manage CX tool input for full year forecast.
  • Support the business units manufacturing teams in understanding company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain Tarmac Investment website, SharePoint and access to CX workflow tool.

This role would suit someone who has business partner experience and who is motivated to get things done.
 

The Ideal Candidate
Fully Qualified or Finalist ACA, ACCA or CIMA Accountant with strong business partnering skills and the ability to build relationships both within finance, the leadership team and the operational teams.

  • Must be well organised and able to manage multiple tasks and effectively prioritise.
  • Good communication skills are key, with the ability to develop relationships in both finance and operational teams across the business.
  • Ability to own and develop data collection templates that fit both BU and central financial reporting requirements.
  • A strong understanding of financial and accountancy management, administration and relevant accounting standards
  • Knowledge of financial ERP systems.
